What will the next gaming breakthough be, and what will happen with all the current gaming console?

Just think, 15 years ago people were making a big deal because gameboy now had color. Now we have graphics that literaly looks more real that in life. Where will we be if we follow this current growth. Will we have hologrphic video games in 15 years? Eventually, will there be more gaming consoles than the people that play them, making them low tech?
