By making a 2g partition on a working Hard Drive and setting that 2gigs as Swap File or Page File only one can see an improvement. You can just increase the size of the Page File, reboot, defrag, reboot, game on. Putting it on its own sector or partition is the preferred way of many because of the nature of the swap files and the temporary nature of them.
