Does higher resolution on a gaming console mean more space being taken up on the Disc?

console gaming
Pious G asked:

Or in other words, does the more image on the screen equal more memory taken up on a disc?

    Generally yes.

Higher resolution means more data, more data takes more space.

Is the Physical RAM and any add ons from the Vid Card, but yes, some is allocated to the SWAP or Page File.
By making a 2g partition on a working Hard Drive and setting that 2gigs as Swap File or Page File only one can see an improvement.
You can just increase the size of the Page File, reboot, defrag, reboot, game on.
Putting it on its own sector or partition is the preferred way of many because of the nature of the swap files and the temporary nature of them.
